General Setting

Domain or Group: managed automatically, specifying it is not mandatory.
Software/Hardware Inventory: the application detects additional information about the machines (installed software, updates, CPU, operating system, etc.).
Exclude Storage Accesses: prevents the recording of “special logins” performed by backup software.
Enable Viewer: when selected, allows the Named Pipes server to start and enables connections from the network-installable Viewer version. (More details here)

Retention

Clear Logs from Remote PCs: allows the Application and Security logs on client PCs to be cleared, speeding up future scans.
Delete LogAccess older than XX months: at the end of each scan, the application deletes access logs older than the configured number of months (minimum value: 6).
Delete LogFiles older than XX months: at the end of each scan, the application deletes log files older than the configured number of months.
Working Log retention days: specifies the number of days logs are retained in the Working Log grid (30 days recommended, do not set a value lower than 14 to ensure proper machine learning operation).

BlogService

Service Status: refers to the BLogService service, from here, it is possible to start or stop it.

XML Secondary Storage

Secondary storage records the same logs in encrypted XML files.
These archives can be used both as a security backup and for comparison with the logs stored in the main database.

Generate archives for each machine: enable secondary logging to encrypted xml files.
Perform monthly archiving: if selected, an additional archive of the previous month will be produced..
XML file path: the folder where the XML files will be stored.

Backup

Enables the automatic nightly Maintenance, Compaction and Archiving procedure for the databases.
When this option is enabled, the system closes all running processes each night, including the BusinessLog interface if it is active, and performs the following operations for each database:

Preventive repair: repairs any tables containing corrupted rows.
Compattazione: frees unallocated space in the database.
Backup: performs a backup and moves the .BackupCopy files to the specified folder.

At the end of the operations, services will restart automatically.

These procedures may take a considerable amount of time. Refer to the regBack.log file to check their duration.

NOTE: Syslog and RTServer processes are not stopped in order to ensure continuity of data reception.

Company Configuration

Language: sets the BusinessLog language. To ensure that the language change takes effect, the application must be restarted.
Standard working hours: specifies the company’s standard office hours and is used to inform the machine learning engine when an event should be considered "outside working hours".
